Since February 2012, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Space Research Group of the University of Alcalá, Spain. I am working in the Solar Orbiter Energetic Particle Detector (EPD) project. Solar Orbiter is an European Space Agency (ESA) mission dedicated to solar and heliospheric physics, planned for launch in 2017. It was selected as the first medium-class mission of ESA’s Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 Programme. Solar Orbiter will have a elliptic orbit with heliocentric distances varying between 0.9AU at aphelion and 0.28AU at perihelion. The orbit inclination will reach up to 34° with respect to the solar equator in the extended mission phase. EPD will measure the composition, timing and distribution functions of suprathermal and energetic particles.

In my previous position at the Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics at the University of Kiel, Germany, I was part of the Science team of  the Solar Electron and Proton Telescope onboard  the STEREO spacecraft. I am still deeply involved in SEPT data analysis, with particular research interest in multi-spacecraft observations of Solar Energetic Particle (SEP) events showing broad angular particle spread in the inner heliosphere.
