Location
The Department of Physics and Mathematics is located in the Faculty of Sciences (Edificio de Ciencias), in the External Campus of the University of Alcalá, on the outskirts of Alcalá de Henares, just next to the train station “Alcalá de Henares Universidad”. Alcalá de Henares is a town located 35 km north-east from Madrid.
Reaching the Campus from Madrid
- By train: From the stations of Chamartín, Nuevos Ministerios, Recoletos and Atocha in Madrid you can reach the External Campus with the commuter train (Cercanías) line C2 (destination Guadalajara). Leave the train at the station “Alcalá de Henares Universidad” (not the previous one “Alcalá de Henares”). The travel from Atocha takes around 50 minutes. The train network is connected with Barajas Airport (click here to see the network map).
- By car: Access the A-2 highway (direction Barcelona), and exit at Meco-Alcalá de Henares-Universidad at km 31. The A-2 is also easily accessible from Madrid-Barajas Airport.
- By Bus (from Madrid Av. América): Take the bus line 227 to the external Campus and leave the bus at “Hospital Príncipe de Asturias” (in the Campus) or the line 221 (direction Guadalajara) and stop at “Centro Comercial la Dehesa”, within the walking distance to the Campus. Both lines depart from Avenida de América bus/metro station and have a stop next to Canillejas metro station (check bus timetables here).

Finding the Faculty
Once you are in the Campus, look for the “Edificio de Ciencias” or “Facultad de Ciencias”, which is next to the train station:
Inside the building
The Physics Department (currently Physics and Mathematics Department), is located in the ground floor of the Faculty, in two separate zones. My office is located in Zone 1 (see map and plane below).
